The 900m3 concrete pour at GrainCcorp's Numurkah facility was a project that ran as smoothly as a house slab for the team at Mawsons.
The extensive industrial project utilised 19 Mawsons trucks from three of our concrete plants, beginning at 4am on an exceedingly windy November day - a challenge for an efficient and streamlined concrete pour of this size. Forty concreters labored over the tank farm slab, providing a pad for the storage of canola oil.
GrainCorp crushes, processes and refines canola on site, then the product is sent via truck to Grain Corp Foods in Melbourne. Part of the extended overall plan is the construction of a refinery enabling GrainCorp to bring in other vegetable oils to process.
The part demolition, part construction project will ultimately create 8 new jobs for the plant, not to mention the project opportunity for Bendigo based ACS (Australian Concrete Solutions) whom Mawsons supplied.
Big congratulations to Travis Price, Stewart Mason, Bruce Clymo, Ramon Steel, Ivan Pigatto and the Cobram, Numurkah and Shepparton plants, drivers and concrete and quarry teams for their co-ordination, professionalism and plain old hard work to make the project such a success.
In the words of Donna Mangles from GrainCorp
"Everything has run so smoothly, we are really happy."
And you cant ask for more client satisfaction than that!
