Broken Hill Solar Farm Project

by Paul Hagan | May 16, 2016

Broken Hill’s new Solar Plant is now on line and producing enough electricity annually to meet the needs of approximately 17,000 average homes. It will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 105,000 tonnes per annum, the equivalent of removing 29,000 cars from the road. The plant is built on 140 hectares of land approximately 5km South West of Broken Hill Township.

Mawsons’ Broken Hill Quarry supplied in excess of 19,000 tonnes of 150mm spalls for the project. The concrete for the project was supplied by Mawson’s Broken Hill Concrete Plant.

Mawsons are proud to be associated with major environmental friendly projects such as this.
